Been Busy

Phew, it's been a hectic couple of weeks. Got back safely from Dubai, unfortunately I didn't get to see much of it but there's a ridiculous amount of construction going on over there it looks like a complete building site and the airport on the way back was so busy it was like a Next sale day!!

Since I returned I've been trying to finish the wedding commission I mentioned earlier and after 3 more consultations the customer has now chosen exactly what she wants so I need to get that completed now.

I've also been adding loads of new items to my website but my camera just won't play nice so I've been taking about 50 photos of each piece before I'm happy with one for the site.

I've posted a couple of pictures of the new additions, the first one is a mix of agate nuggets and tiny black agate beads making up the 'chain' and the second is an African turquoise and onyx necklace with a sterling silver pendant.

There's loads more on my website but I didn't want to fill this post up with tons of pictures, so please visit my site and take a look at everything else that's available.

Be back in a couple of days.

Away for a few days

Well I'm off to Dubai tomorrow for a few days with work so I shan't be doing any beading this weekend even though I'm packing a little travel kit just in case I get a couple of hours free. I've just checked the weather and it's 31 degrees out there at the moment, I know this sounds good to most people but I dont' like the really hot weather about 26 degrees is my maximum so I'll be looking for the air-conditioned rooms.

I've got a big wedding commission I need to get finished for next weekend so that'll keep me busy when I get back and hopefully I can show you some piccies of the finished projects.

Have a great weekend, see you next week.

Kalidescope

Finally managed to photograph this necklace but it really doesn't do the beads justice.

My passion is for lampwork beads I can't get enough of them and Laura Sparling is one of my favourite lampworkers. I've combined loads of sterling silver beads and some Swarovski with the beads to make this necklace which drapes just beautifully. It's for sale on my website at the moment but I might be tempted to keep it myself.

On a seperate note to beads and jewellery we adopted a cat on Friday. We have always been a family of animal lovers especially for cats but after we lost both of ours within a couple of years of each other we decided that it was just too stressful to have another cat. However, friends of ours are moving to Spain and they just didn't think their 8 year old moggie would cope with the move so asked if we'd take her in. We nearly bit their hands off and are now the proud 'parents' to Minnie, she's just the most gentle, friendly cat I've met and has settled into our home as if she's been there all her life.

Failed miserably

Was hoping to post everyday but already I haven't managed that!

Things have been crazy for the past few days as all of a sudden more & more people are becoming interested in my jewellery which has got me so excited I can't sit still.

As you know I'm in the learning phase of blogging so my pages may be a little boring to start with but I hope to get some piccies up soon (not sure if I'll be brave enough to post any of me though)

New to this

Been hearing about blogs for a long time now and never really understood what they were about so thought it was about time I took a look-see.

I'm looking forward to sharing my thoughts with you and will be attempting to post here on a daily basis.

Now I really need to be getting ready for work or I'm going to hit the rush hour traffic (one of my many bug bares, you'll get to know about all my others over the next few weeks I expect!)

Thanks for reading will be back later.
